Onboard carbon capture technologies for shipping – A Suezmax paradigm

This presentation covers the implications of onboard carbon capture technologies in ship machinery and provides the key elements that would facilitate such technologies for onboard use. Indicative results from a machinery feasibility study for a Suezmax tanker are going to be presented. Onboard carbon capture technologies are now discussed as one of the possible future decarbonization solutions, but there is limited experience in shipping with regards to the potential. The presentation covers such aspects and gives insight to the shipping companies on the way that this technology would affect their vessels and their emissions
reduction potential.
